Verkostungsnotizen
Vinous 88-90
Medium color. Somewhat high-toned black cherry nose is currently dominated by lead pencil and cedar. Gentle and flavorful; has alluring perfume and sweetness in the mouth but less fat than the ’95. Ripe, persistent on the finish. A very pretty Palmer.
Robert Parker 86
A dry leafy, cigar box nose, with a touch of cinnamon with tobacco and cedar. Overall the aromatics lack some vigor. The palate has moderate concentration, more body than the 1992. Quite supple for a 1994, the Merlot fleshes this wine out to make it more balanced than other 1994’s but it is still very linear. Would be a good match with food, where it may show better. Tasted October 2004.
Anticipated maturity: 1999-2010
