Bright, deep red. Aromas of raspberry, licorice and herbs show a slightly underripe/overripe character. Supple but a bit flat, with modest depth to the raspberry, spice and herb flavors. Finishes with easy tannins but slightly tart acidity and an intrusive green note. An awkward showing today.

The 2011 Vosne-Romanee Village has an entrancing, earthy bouquet that is layered over with raspberry leaf and bergamot scents, hints of cold tea emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, leafy black fruit. This is a slightly austere, maybe curmudgeonly Vosne-Romanee at the moment and it dips just before the finish line, but there is a pleasant saline aftertaste. Drink now-2018.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2018
