Vinous 92
The 2014 Le Petit Haut Lafitte is dark and brooding, but the tannins are nicely tamed, which gives the wine a striking sense of proportion. Graphite, game, smoke, lavender and grilled herb notes abound. All of the signatures of this site come through nicely in an accessible, midweight wine that will drink well with minimal cellaring. The blend is 60 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 40 % Merlot.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2024
Robert Parker 90
The 2014 Les Petit Haut Lafitte has an attractive blackberry, cedar and black olive-scented bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well balanced with quite a saline, marine-influenced finish that lends this character. Enjoy this well-crafted Pessac-Leognan over the next five or six years.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2023
