Vinous 93
The 2016 Vosne-Romanee Les Rouges du Dessus 1er Cru has a clean and fresh bouquet with perfumed Morello and strawberry shortcake aromas, all well defined. Exuberant is the word that comes to mind. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that frame a sweet, confit-like core of red fruit with hints of marmalade and blood orange towards the seductive finish. Very fine, but a Vosne-Romanee I might broach in the more immediate term. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

Robert Parker 90-92
"The 2016 Vosne Romanee Rouge du Dessus comes from the sunniest climat according to Cecile but in this vintage turned out to be the freshest. It is matured in 50% new oak although from a different source than the Beaux Monts. It has a very aromatic bouquet with blackcurrant and raspberry fruit with a touch of morels developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured, slightly foursquare opening redeemed by a fine thread of acidity. It tapers slightly toward the finish but it maintains plenty of freshness and vitality."
