Vinous 94
The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru has a very refined bouquet, quite sensual in style with intense red cherries and wild strawberry fruit infused with minerals. This is just pure class – as good as you will find from this vineyard. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, and very cohesive. A very elegant and refined finish. Simply one of the finest Fuees the Domaine has ever made. Tasted at the Domaine.

"The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuees was reduced by around half in this vintage due to the frost. It certainly has more cohesion and fruit intensity on the nose compared to the village cru, with vivid red cherry, raspberry preserve and subtle sous-bois scents that blossom with aeration. The palate is wonderful: very focused, a sweet core of candied red fruit, palpable energy from first to last with just a touch of welcome bitterness on the finish. Top drawer! This is a fabulous Fuees that is a huge leap up from the village cru this year."
