Vinous 90
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru presents aromas of coffee granules, dark chocolate and leather, also suggesting some Brettanomyces on the nose that obscures the terroir. The palate is medium-bodied with low acidity. The Brettanomyces re-emerges here, denuding it of the clarity one would hope for. I am unsure about the long-term evolution of this wine, as it already tastes old! I question whether this bottle is sound, hence the question mark against my score. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Roumier’s 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses was showing very well, bursting with aromas of blood orange, peonies, raspberries and plums. Medium to full-bodied, sumptuous and seductive, it’s velvety and succulent, with a deep core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, perfumed finish.
