Verkostungsnotizen
Vinous 92
The 2019 Barolo Campe is a powerful, dense wine. All the elements are turned up, maybe too much so. A blast of dark fruit, leather, smoke, incense and chocolate hits the palate, framed by swaths of muscular tannin that add intensity. In this tasting, the 2019 comes across as a bit heavy and pushed too far with extraction and oak. I prefer the Garretti, at least today.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2039
